Construcciones Ligeras y Aeronáuticas SL was founded on 11 November 1995 by Martín Uhía Lima and José Manuel Coego Bujan, two light aircraft pilots, with the intention to put an ambitious project into practice, the light aircraft MARTIN3. It was decided that this aircraft would offer the following features: · Side by side two-seater · Ample visibility · A spacious, comfortable · Totally enclosed cockpit · A cruising speed of around 200 km/h · Light aircraft characteristics, registered as ULM and JAR-VLA for professional use · Ability to cover 1500km without refuelling · Corrosion free and constructed with composite materials · A competitive price The five members of the team were involved in the project for 3 years until the first prototype of Martin3, made as a hydroplane, made its first flight. The excellent results obtained led the team on to create the land version of Martin3, which was also highly successful, earning praise from enthusiasts and experts. This success put an end to the team’s doubts as to the viability of the project, and it was time to put the craft into production. The next step was to computerise the information, prepare production documents, build a suitably climatized workshop and construct a third prototype with a few final improvements to the land version, which was, at that time, registered as a light aircraft by Civil Aviation . New people joined the team, offering their knowledge and enthusiasm to a company, which is now ready to be launched into the aeronautical market. COLYAER SL is now a reality, and is entering into the manufacture of other products made with composite materials such as sports boats, bodywork, defence etc. Our workshop has a floor surface of more than 1300m2, totally climatized and suitable for working with composite materials. We have a TECHNICAL OFFICE where most of the project development takes place, in collaboration with outside engineers. All the work undertaken in this office is computerised, with SOLIDWORKS as its design programme. There is an integral planning and control system, which is responsible for taking complete control of productivity.
