  • Sofas

    • DS-545

    • The DS-545 is a classic par excellence. Sofas in three different widths, easy chair and stool are all snugly upholstered with viscoelastic padding. All seat and back cushions are attached to the chair body with velcro to make them easy to remove for cleaning. The ash armrests that frame the leather-clad side sections and flow down into the legs at both front and rear form a particularly striking feature. This very light-coloured and robust wood is finished with a colourless varnish or in our “Charcol” shade as standard; on request, however, the wooden elements can be lacquered in any RAL or NCS colour required. The same is true of the sumptuous leather covering material in de Sede’s popular “Coloral” quality. This leather is available in our current collection colours, but can also be dyed to customers’ individual specifications.
    • DS-160

    • The hand-crafted DS-160 heralds in an entire group of products. It consists of five individual elements each 80 x 80 cm in size - an individual easy chair with armrests, easy chair without armrests as an intermediate element, two side elements with an armrest on either the right or left and a stool - which can be combined to create exciting seating ensembles. Brackets bolted to the rectangular tubular frame of stainless steel link the individual modules together. The programme is further extended by a 40 x 80 cm glass top that can be slotted between the seating elements. It is child’s play to create new combinations at will which can change your sitting direction, break up the arrangement with handy glass surfaces, terminate in a bench or even go around a corner. All the seating elements can also be used separately and can be complemented with a matching 80 x 80 cm glass-topped occasional table.
    • DS-1264

    • The new DS-1264 bench system is a variation on the DS-1064 sofa. But unlike its big brother, it manages without backrests and adjustment, providing quick and practical seating for the lobby or reception area. Various elements – straight, curved, seating islands and corner modules – give this model an incredible degree of flexibility. Thanks to its sculptural effect it can fill large spaces or meander strikingly through the room. Its wooden body is covered in comfortable upholstery with decorative double saddle stitching. For the chrome-plated legs with their high-gloss or pearlescent finish, customers can choose either a convex rounded leg or have a metal leg with a round cover. Here, too, there is a coloured lacquer option for the finish.
    • DS-159

    • The clear-cut design concept behind the DS-159 modular system is a masterstroke of creative upholstery. Both seat and back section are generously tufted with leather buttons and piping. The unassuming straight-edged lines of the chair - which is available with or without arms - and the stool form the basis for the various seating combinations and sofa systems that can be put together as required using the individual elements measuring 80 x 80 cm. There are both couch and integrated tables to match, which fit harmoniously with seating ensembles and make an interesting addition to any living environment. The modules can be combined easily to form a stable unit.
    • DS-640

    • Milanese designer Antonella Scarpitta has set a new feminine course within the de Sede collection with her DS-640. The rearward sweeping side sections embrace the back upholstery and its cosily deep seating, imbuing it with an unparalleled elegance and making virtually every sitting and reclining position an absolute joy. With its loose cushions, the sofa is an unrefusable invitation to sit and lounge and revel in such outstanding comfort.
    • DS-820

    • Clad sumptuously in de Sede’s finest NECK leather, the DS-820 is yet further proof of the company’s consummate leather-working craftsmanship. It takes no fewer than four to five large hides to cover this remarkable sofa. A single seam divides the seat and back rest along the centre. The commodious lines of the armrests spring from the ingenious way in which the leather is draped. This exceptional method of cutting and folding is necessary since sewing NECK leather - which can be as much as half a centimetre in thickness - is only possible in certain places. This is yet another reason why only the very finest hides can be used for this striking quality of leather with its warm and supple appeal. Despite the use of this impressive covering material with its marked pattern of natural creasing, the classically elegant DS-820 retains all the unmistakable seating comfort for which de Sede is famous, making it an absolute delight for sitting, lying and reclining.
    • DS-2410

    • A good many modern classics have already emerged from the Maly design studio. And the DS-2400 is a yet another creation whose clean-cut, geometric lines make it a firm contender to become a further contemporary classic. Together with his partner, Birgit Hoffmann, Peter Maly has developed a seating concept of unique generosity.
An entire seating family makes it possible to form harmonious ensembles to enhance your living environment, since the new program has been conceived not merely to include sofa elements and armchairs in two different size ranges, but also dining tables, benches and comfortable dining chairs.
    • DS-2420

    • As is to be expected from de Sede, the details reflect all the top-quality skills of the company’s traditional craftsmanship. The commodious seat cushioning is partitioned by fine diagonal seams, while the diagonal motif is echoed in the sweeping armrests in the form of oblique stitching and pleats. The seating elements, sofas and stools perch on deeply recessed bases, while the large armchairs can also swivel.

Constructed on metal frames, the dining chairs offer a level of comfort that makes it a pleasure to linger at the dining table. The tables themselves – with either a rectangular solid wooden top – are fashioned in walnut or light oak with stainless steel legs.
    • DS-80

    • This daybed is a logical and faithful re-design of the celebrated de Sede classic and has lost none of its fascination. Its extravagant patchwork covering together with back cushioning that can be positioned as required caused a sensation more than 30 years ago. The contrasts deliberately chosen between the individual pieces of leather used in the patchwork covering are particularly effective in our Naturale category of leather and make a significant contribution to the charm of this classic model. The model has been only slightly altered to fit the spirit of the new collection. The DS-80 is available as both a recliner and small lounge sofa.
  • Chairs / Benches

    • DS-290

    • The DS-290 Tub Chair is a veritable little gem. The playful pattern of the stitching in its seat and back cushioning coupled with its delicately sweeping armrests give it an inimitable charm. With its comfortable arms, this chair is ideal for use in restaurants or conference rooms and is available in a choice of designs. In the case of the lower version, the backrest has been extended downward and fitted with tiny legs or castors. In its cantilevered incarnation, the seat shell is screwed to a chrome-plated frame with a high-gloss or pearlescent finish. The Tub Chair is also ideal for the office when perched atop a chromed central column mounted on a five-star base in polished aluminium which can be equipped with either castors or glides. Its intriguing lines, perfect upholstery, first-rate materials and superb comfort make this chair something very special.
    • DS-718

    • The DS-718 is a chair that is equally at home in the dining room or conference room. Thanks to its perfect balance, its cantilevered form is wholly captivating and unites clear design with unparalleled quality and the ultimate in seating comfort. The leather-covered foamed seat shell is attached to a round tubular frame in either a high-gloss or pearlescent chromed finish, or can be lacquered on request. The leather covering has an attractive tucked seam running around the side. With or without armrests, this cantilever chair can be stacked without difficulty.
    • DS-2430

    • A good many modern classics have already emerged from the Maly design studio. And the DS-2400 is a yet another creation whose clean-cut, geometric lines make it a firm contender to become a further contemporary classic. Together with his partner, Birgit Hoffmann, Peter Maly has developed a seating concept of unique generosity.

    • RH-304

    • Its harmonious proportions and clean-cut lines make the RH-304 cantilever chair an icon of SWISS DESIGN. Robert Haussmann’s creation proved a resounding success when it premiered at the end of the Fifties, when it was used for the seating in a conference room at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Avidly sought by collectors and connoisseurs, it is now available again along with the RH-305 as a re-edition from de Sede: virtually indistinguishable from their historic precursor, the silhouettes of both models – subtly enhanced by slimmer seat upholstery – shine in a new-found glory.
    • RH-305

    • A chair that has lost none of its elegance and style since it was created in the 1950s. This re-edition of the de Sede icon has a somewhat slimmer upholstered surface, its seat height has been modified slightly and its frame (in high-gloss or smoky chrome finish) adapted to meet new tilt requirements. There is a version with armrests available, too. Otherwise, this Swiss classic remains unchanged.
    • DS-717

    • The DS-717 is the unequivocal expression of simplicity of form and unsurpassed functionality melded smoothly in a unique symbiosis of delight. In addition to the chair - with or without armrests - the same series also includes a barstool and lounge chair. All the chairs follow the same idea from Claudio Bellini, based on his understanding of what the precision mechanics of seating demands of design: the ultimate in comfort! The seat shells of the chairs are unalloyed ergonomic perfection - a rousing success for this innovative designer - while the chromium-plated steel tubing is the non-plus-ultra in shape. In the DS-717, seating becomes an act of sensuousness linked with unparalleled comfort. But seating can only be truly good when - in addition to aspects such as technology, material, ergonomics and tactility # it also explores human momentum and incorporates this as well. The work of Claudio Bellini does so in a manner that is unequalled today, thanks to his conviction that design in the final analysis serves but one purpose: to provide matchless quality # and to do so without compromise!

    • DS-51

    • The Seventies were hallmarked by some extremely innovative designs and saw the birth of many classics that are still popular today. Ingeniously designed seating produced with typical Swiss quality made the de Sede brand well known throughout the world during this period. The DS-51 swivel armchair is one such model: designed in the company’s own workshop and first manufactured in 1971. Today’s rediscovery of the styles of this time have re-awakened contemporary interest in this classic. The skill of craftsmanship that has gone into creating this chair reflects its high aesthetic standards to perfection. The seat and back cushions are all sewn by hand and it is the striking stitching on the outside that makes this armchair so exceptional and gives it its exquisite appearance. Its low seat height and generous dimensions ensure that the DS-51 can fit easily into a modern lounge environment while appearing light and elegant. The high level of comfort is maintained despite its somewhat fragile appearance. Available with or without armrests.

    • DS-9055

    • The appeal of this table rests in its devotion to detail and eye-catching elegance. • DS-9046

    • When designing the DS-9046 side table, Philippe Bestenheider explored the creative possibilities offered by working with full-grain leather. Starting with the leather’s agreeable surface texture, of the kind familiar from old writing desks, the Swiss designer called upon first-class workmanship, devotion to detail and the finishing skills of the Arts and Crafts movement to develop a small yet supremely elegant table in which smooth premium-quality full-grain leather is used not only to cover the hexagonal tabletop, but also to sheathe the three chromium steel legs. The cladding of these merges smoothly into the custom-tailored and precisely-crafted woven work that gives this striking side table its slim profile and airy looks. This ensures that the DS-9046 makes an eye-catching addition to every environment. The table is available in three shades of leather, while the chromium steel legs come in two colours.
  • Beds / Room divider

    • DS-9050

    • The byobu (literally: “wind wall”) is a traditional Japanese folding screen made of rice-paper that dates back to the 8th century. Starting with the concept of this screen, designer Philippe Bestenheider has created a three-dimensional filigree structure consisting of a metal frame covered with a fibre material made from cellulose and paper. The tear-proof lengths of fabric are woven through the frame and act as flexible hinges. The material gives the screen an impression of airy lightness. Its three sections allow the DS-9050 screen to be positioned in a straight line, angled or even folded to create a star shape. One particularly intriguing design element is the hand-crafted leatherwork used to attach the screen’s covering to its frame. This exciting screen is available in a variety of colour combinations.
    • DS-1164

    • The new bed collection from the house of de Sede celebrates the rediscovery of divine sleep and thereby redefines that old saying about "making your bed and lying on it". This is thanks to a design principle that follows closely in the footsteps of the DS-164 and DS-165 sofas - both of which already enjoy cult status. The bed-heads can be adjusted to precisely the right position for every occasion: from front to rear, from left to right.
    • DS-1165

    • This makes it a true premiere in bed design. The DS-1164/1165 models guarantee that any hint of boredom in the bedroom is most definitely a thing of the past. These beds bear eloquent witness to how daring design can play delightfully with sensuality to conjure up unique new vistas for the human imagination. Added to this comes an intriguing choice of shapes. But the practical element has not been forgotten: standardised elements can be used for the slatted frames and mattresses thus allowing customers to choose their beds "inner selves" to suit their own individual requirements. These beds provide the ideal spot for virtually untrammelled dreaming - both by night and by day.
  • Heritage

    • HE-113

    • Furniture made from steel is timeless; today it is more in demand than ever. In search of a new functional design this type of furniture first appeared in the Bauhaus workshops founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar - a modern school of art of architects, designers and artists for whom, due to their knowledge of proportion and function, house and furnishings had a meaningful relationship with one another...
    • DS-600

    • A multifunctional element range. You can zip a number of the same element together until you have the longest sofa in the world. That way you can always find a new arrangement for your room. de Sede's own combination of both supportive and down-soft upholstery gives this variable sofa, the legendary de Sede sitting comfort.
    • DS-1025

    • Built on the basis of two ingenious elements which have been painstakingly constructed with eminent craftsmanship into striking terrace-like forms, the DS-1025 provides a unique seating experience. Like terraced hills, the elements left and right vary in width and depth in tapering steps. Together they constitute a welcoming two-seater, a pyramid or a small range of upholstered hillocks. With the addition of extra elements, it is possible to create seating groups whose diversity is limited only by the owner's imagination.
