Product Portfolio
  • Gears & Drive solutions

      • Complete press drive

          • Complete press drive KA

          • The KA replaces the complete spur gear transmission or reduction stage in punching machines, eccentric presses and knuckle-joint presses, or suchlike, in which the energy required by the machine is taken from a fast-running flywheel. The ready-to-install unit comprised of a single-stage high-performance
planetary gearbox, a flywheel for energy storage as well as a pneumatically or hydraulically actuated clutch/brake combination.

Torque range from 16 kNm to 160 kNm
            Gear ratios 4 and 6
          • Complete press drive KAE

          • This flywheel direct drive is a further development of the DESCH standard complete drive, which has already proven itself time and again in numerous applications. A highly efficient torque motor is integrated into the flywheel. It works almost wear-free and provides the highest rate of power density within the smallest installation space. The benefit of this to the machine manufacturer is that the previous motor, the motor bracket and the complete belt drive are not required. This in turn simplifies the assembly of the press and also saves assembly time.

Torque range from 16 kNm to 160 kNm
            Gear ratios 4 and 6
          • Complete press drive ECO-KA

                                • In case of the pneumatically switched-on Planox® clutch, type PP, the compressed air is fed axially through the shaft into the ring cylinder, thereby determining the torque. The wear that occurs is automatically compensated over the piston stroke. Combined with flexible couplings, the PP type is especially suitable as a safety clutch for dual screw extruders in the plastic indurstry. These are ground in at our grind-in test stand especially produced for this application, and set there to the required slip torque.

                                • The air feed of the pneumatically switched-on Planox® clutch, type PPR, is radial. The switching component, comprised of a cylinder and piston, runs on angular ball bearings and the required pressing force is transferred by these. The torque resulting from the friction of the angular ball bearings is absorbed to the foundation or the case by a torque plate. The wear that occurs is automatically compensated over the piston stroke.

Torque range from 180 Nm to 22.000 Nm
                                • Planox® PPRA actuated pneumatically, bell-shaped model, radial air supply

                                • A defined torque is generated due to the permanently pretensioned cup spring packs. If this preset torque is exceeded during operation, the Planox® clutch, type PT, slips through, thereby cutting off the torque peaks. The wear that occurs is automatically compensated by the cup spring packs.

Torque range from 1.320 Nm to 990.000 Nm
                                • Planox® PPT switched off pneumatically

                                • The Planox® clutch, type PPT, is switched off pneumatically and is based on the two design features of the PP and PT type clutches. A switching component similar to that installed in the PP type is attached to the extended clutch hub of the PT model. The compressed air is fed axially through the shaft. The axial force generated by this presses against the cup spring packs via the piston, thereby separating the parts within the frictional connection. The clutch is switched off. When depressurized, the clutch is switched on automatically by spring force. This means that when in operation, no actuating medium needs to be constantly present.

Torque range from 1.100 Nm to 825.000 Nm
                                • Planox® PPRT switched off pneumatically

                                    • The pneumatically actuated Lutex® LKB is a dry running single plate combined clutch/brake (it is referred to the following text as the C-B-C). Originally developed for use on presses and shearing machines it is particularly suitable for applications where medium and large inertias are to be accelerated or decelerated. The heat resistant properties of the friction surfaces enables the Lutex® C-B-C to achieve the high operating cycle required by presses. Its compact construction allows the C-B-C to be mounted in a very small space between the machine frame and the flywheel.

                                      Torque range to 165 kNm
                                    • Lutex® LS

                                    • The pneumatically actuated Lutex® LS is a dry-operating single-disc clutch/brake combination (called C-B-C below) - a further development of the proven Lutex® LKB. With an increased power density, the Lutex® LS is particularly suitable for considerably higher rotational speed with increased torques. It can be used ideally for the acceleration and deceleration of medium and high mass moments of interia. The high engaging frequencies with the shortest possible engaging times demanded in press design are reliably achieved by the C-B-C with high thermal stressability and a long service life of the special friction linings. The Lutex® LS type series is therefore predestined for press and shear drives, single-stroke or continuous-running operation. Due to its compact construction, the C-B-C can be installed in the smallest of spaces between the machine frame and flywheel.

Torque range from 6 kNm to 52 kNm
                                    • Lutex® HKB and HKBT

                                    • The hydraulically actuated Lutex® HKB is a wet-type (oil), multiple plate clutch/brake combination normally operated at 60 bar. When the HKB is not subjected to oil pressure, the brake is engaged by the pretensioned springs. When the hydraulic oil is fed into the cylinder, the piston overcomes the
spring force and is pressed against the disk set of the clutch. The clutch engages and the brake disk set opens. An overlap of clutch and brake functions is impossible. HKBs are used especially in intermittently operating machines like presses, shearing machines, punch presses and suchlike.

Torque range from 3 kNm to 250 kNm

                                    • FLEXWAVE is a compact harmonic gear reduction mechanism that achieves zero backlash, as well as exceptional positioning accuracy, torque density and repeatability. FLEXWAVE consists of three internal elements – the flexspline, the circular spline and the wave generator. The elasticity properties of the flexspline and the teeth differential between the flexspline and the circular spline result in its unique reduction characteristics.

FLEXWAVE comes in various form factors, including component sets, simple contained assemblies and complete gear units. Cup, hat, solid and hollow input shaft configurations give engineers true freedom in design. FLEXWAVE is also available in Ultra-Flat and High Torque variations for applications with demanding footprint and performance requirements. Dimensions are interchangeable against industry standards, making it easier to implement in legacy equipment. When compared with other gear technologies, FLEXWAVE offers the following advantages:

                                      • Exceptional Repeatability and Positional Accuracy

                                                            • Due to the operating conditions, which at times are extremely hard, e.g. in case of mobile or stationary machinery, the highest technical performance standards have been specified, especially for drive components. When the machines are in operation, power density is fully utilized and reliability and availability are presupposed. DESCH drive components such as clutches , spur gears, planetary gearboxes, belt drives or system solutions have fulfilled these requirements for decades.
                                                            • MACHINE TOOLS

                                                            • DESCH planetary shifting gearboxes are used in machining tool machines as rotary table drives, and especially as main spindle drives. Due to the geometrical requirements for the RAM of a machine tool, these complex drives must be able to transfer large kinetic energy within a narrow space on the one hand, on the other they must also comply with the highest demands of accuracy. As is the case in all DESCH drive systems, development focuses on system effectiveness and energy efficiency. Besides our proofen planetary gearboxes DESCH offers an almost complete product range for your drive solution such as motor spindle, machining heads, flexible couplings, tooth clutches, v-belts and pulleys, tooth gears, valve blooks for the hydraulic units for lube oil and actuation oil and also measurement systems for condition monitoring.
