Actionair was Established in 1974 and the name has been associated with Air Management Products since the beginning. The Company is acknowledged as UK market leaders in the manufacture of fire, smoke and air control dampers designed to meet the needs of the modern building services industry. In 1996 the range of air management products was expanded to include innovative fan coil units offering both airside and waterside control in horizontal and vertical applications. These products have been used extensively across the UK in many prestigious buildings. The company's offices and manufacturing facility at Whitstable is in excess of 50 000 ft², currently employing 130 personnel . In January 2000, the company was sold to Tomkins plc, a UK company, which has formed an international group of companies focussed on manufacturing and committed to achieving consistent long term growth.
