        The ABUS single girder travelling crane is our flexible crane for almost any application. Even in buildings with low ceilings effective material flow solutions can be achieved for loads of up to 16 t and spans of up to 39 m. Normally safety clearances below ceilings are not required for single girder cranes within this load range. This allows the optimal use of existing space or can save additional building height costs.

        The ABUS single girder travelling cranes adapt to different building applications due to their various main girder connection variants. Favourable crane dimensions help to reach optimal highest hook positions. The main girder connection ‘version 3’ is the optimal solution for new factory buildings as this version offers the best side approach dimensions. If lifting height is the decisive factor then a single girder crane ELS with side-running trolley is the right choice.

        The single-girder travelling crane is also a good choice for special solutions: The ABUS accessories and components offer specialised additional equipment to satisfy your requirements.

        Robust rolled section girders form the crane girder of the ABUS single girder travelling crane ELV whereas ABUS single girder travelling cranes ELK and ELS consist of torsion resistant welded box girders.

        Double is stronger! If you need to transport heavy loads of up to 120 t across large areas then ABUS double girder travelling cranes are your first choice. Like all ABUS gantry cranes, they integrate well into different building structures, whether new or existing, thanks to various main girder connection options. ABUS double girder travelling cranes guarantee continuously high functionality, flexibility and ease of operation.

        In addition, ABUS accessories and components offer a wide variety of specialised equipment for certain applications. ABUS double girder travelling cranes type ZLK feature welded box girders. All sections used for main girders and end carriages are computer-optimised for high performance and low weight, benefits that pay in terms of strength and cost efficiency.

        ABUS double girder travelling cranes are available for spans of up to 40 m and feature the versatility needed for special requirements. For example, faster long travel speeds, maintenance platforms, crab units with walkways and auxiliary hoists are all features that can easily be implemented.

        Complex building conditions require specialised solutions, easily realised with ABUS underslung overhead travelling cranes. The gantry tracks are fitted to ceilings rather than free-standing or building columns. Thus best possible results are achieved even in tight spaces and difficult conditions.

        ABUS underslung overhead travelling cranes make optimal use of the available building width by featuring very small side approach dimensions and bespoke main girder cantilevers. It is also possible to optimise the highest hook position by stooling up the main girder between end carriages.

        ABUS underslung overhead travelling cranes offer load capacities of up to 8 t and spans of up to 25 m. The design versions DLVM and EDL feature rolled section girders. EDKs are designed with torsion resistant welded box girders. A comprehensive programme of accessories and components is also available for ABUS underslung overhead travelling cranes.

        ABUS wall travelling cranes have a track to themselves underneath the big overhead travelling cranes. This enables you to transport loads within individual production areas independently from the cranes on the higher level.

        ABUS wall travelling cranes are designed with load capacities of up to 5 t and with spans of up to 12 m.

          The ABUS monorail specialises in lifting loads locally and in linear point-to-point transport. With the help of curved sections your hoist is able to travel through the building exactly as you need it to. Workstations could be linked in this way if required or the crane could be adapted to fit individual machinery locations.

          Two crane tracks are suspended in parallel for the ABUS double rail system with the hoist suspended between them. The loads are distributed more evenly meaning less loading for the building structure. Wider suspension spacing is possible.

          With the hoist, an ABUS electric chain hoist, suspended between the track profiles, the highest hook position is improved compared to the ESB.

          The ABUS single girder crane EHB is the most straightforward HB system solution for area-coverage materials handling within buildings. The EHB is a very light crane due to the simple construction of two crane tracks and one crane girder which makes it easy to move the EHB manually. This crane is ideal to be installed in lightweight buildings with low load-bearing ability.

            The pillar jib crane LS has been designed for freestanding installation on the building floor. This workstation crane provides a slew range of 270° with jib arm lengths of up to 7 m and Safe Working Loads (SWL) of up to 1.0 t. Slewing stops allow you to adapt the slewing range to your individual needs.

            The pillar jib crane LS is typically used to support lifting tasks that are mostly in the lower capacity range. Loads can be quickly and safely raised and can be transferred effortlessly and precisely thanks to the smooth-running jib arm.

        • Wire rope hoists

        • ABUS electric wire rope hoists are the core element of our crane systems. They are also the result of many decades of research and development by ABUS. Our wire rope hoists are produced at the ABUS production plants at Gummersbach using the most advanced technology available and continue to bear witness to the reliability, and durability of our products. The SWL range of ABUS electric wire rope hoists extends from 1 t to 120 t. Our customers can choose from a wide range of models depending on application and requirements - starting with the standard wire rope hoist in the lower SWL range up to special crab unit designs incorporating additional features at the higher SWL range. However, all wire rope hoists have these characteristics in common: highest levels of uptime availability and safety within materials handling operations.
            • Type E – monorail hoist

              The type E monorail hoist is our most frequently ordered hoist in the lower Safe Working Load range between 1 t and 16 t. These hoists tend to be the most economic choice for many standard applications of material flow. The compact design of the type E wire rope hoist offers favourable dimensions. The hoists feature two direct drive cross travel motors. The cross travel trolley is adjustable to suit various flange widths.

            • Type S – side-mounted hoist

              • Allows building heights to be reduced.

              The side-mounted hoist type S is characterised by the hook being positioned beside the crane girder. Thus an optimised highest hook position is achieved in the SWL range of 1 t to 10 t. The optimised hook position is not only an advantage in existing buildings. When designing new factory buildings the side-mounted hoist type S can be employed to reduce the total investment costs: it is possible, for example, to design cranes with spans of up to 35 metres or more as single girder cranes. Compared with a single-girder crane using a monorail hoist type E the building height can be reduced which will result in a lower cost volume. Compared with a double-girder crane of about the same height, the loads on the crane track and the building are significantly lower which is often another cost advantage.

            • Type U – monorail hoist with twin trolleys

              The monorail hoist with twin trolleys type U is used for high load capacities and long hook paths. The SWL range extends between 6.3 t and 25 t. The cross travel trolleys feature direct drives without exposed reduction gearing. This lower flange trolley is fitted with 8 wheels for better load distribution. Thus ordinary rolled section beams can be used for monorail track applications. Cranes with higher load capacities yet smaller spans can be designed as single-girder cranes when using the hoist type S. Advantages as to the total investment can be achieved in comparison to the double-girder crane.

            • Type D – standard crab unit

              The double rail trolley type D is our compact standard crab unit for the medium SWL applications between 1 t and 63 t. This design is characterised by articulated end carriage joints that ensure positive contact of all four wheels with the track. The hoist trolley of this crab unit features two direct drive cross travel motors. Some D type hoists can be used for so-called true vertical lift applications as hook ‘wander’ (movement along the barrel) and rotation are absent. This is a major advantage for crane users in case of applications that require lifting of guided loads or turning loads with two hoists. In addition, maintenance platforms can be fitted to this crab unit making for easier and safer service and maintenance —with walkable platforms being an option also. Should the available clearance above the crab unit be restricted, a stooled-down version ( type DA ) is available upon request.

            • Type DQA – ultra low headroom crab unit

              The crab unit type DQA is characterised by an ultra-low headroom. This wire rope hoist design with a SWL of up to 40 t adapts to the building contours, even if there is very little clearance above it. The rope drum axis is aligned in the direction of cross travel. The articulated end carriage joints ensure positive contact of all four wheels with the track. The hoist trolley features two direct drive cross travel motors.
            • Type Z – twin barrel crab unit

              The twin barrel crab unit type Z is our standard wire rope hoist for heavy duty transport applications. The Safe Working Load range for type Z is between 8 t and 120 t. The articulated end carriage joints ensure positive contact of all four wheels with the track. The hoist trolley of this twin barrel crab unit features two direct drive cross travel motors. These come as epicyclic or flat geared motors depending on the diameter of the wheels. In addition, maintenance platforms can be fitted to this crab unit making for easier and safer service and maintenance - with walkable platforms being an option also. Should the available clearance above the crab unit be restricted, a stooled-down version (type ZA) is available upon request, a design characterised by ultra-low headroom that adapts to the building contours in an optimal way.

            • Type DA - low headroom crab unit

            • At a glance

              • Minimum overall headroom dimensions.
              • May be used where very little space is available above the crane.

              In contrast to type D, the supporting member with the hoist between the end carriages is equipped with articulated joints. The hoist headroom is therefore reduced to a minimum. This is the option to use where very little space is available above the crane, as an alternative to type DQA, also a low headroom option.
          • Electric Chain Hoists

          • Chain hoists in daily use at workstations have to be robust, reliable and low-maintenance.
            The ABUCompact range of ABUS electric chain hoists offer solutions for up to 4 t SWL featuring the high build quality for which ABUS is well-known.
            The modular design allows a huge range of lifting speeds of up to 20 m/min for hook paths of up to 50 m.

            Precision lifting, safety slipping clutch and quick plug-type connectors are as integral a part of the standard configuration as is the tried and tested durable direct control for sizes GM2, GM4 and GM6.

              • ABUCompact GMC

                A standard power socket with 230 V suffices for the power supply of the ABUCompact GMC. The GMC is particularly suited to mobile use due to its low weight. The GMC is available with single or double falls and is able to lift loads of up to 100 kg / 200 kg. The lifting speed is infinitely variable. Feasible hook paths reach lengths of up to 20 m / 10 m.

                The ABUCompact GMC is easy to fix in position via the removable, hinged suspension bracket or may be used in combination with a push-pull trolley.

              • ABUCompact GM2

            • Lightweight mobile gantry

            • The ABUS LPK mobile gantry is the economical solution if a permanently installed hoist is not needed but crane usage is often required at several different locations.

              The LPK has been designed for use with ABUS electric chain hoists and for loads of up to 2000 kg. Four steerable stopper rollers, two of which have 90° direction locks as a standard, make the crane very easy to move. This crane is also designed for easy dismantling.

              With two sizes the required crane dimensions can be adapted across a wide range.
