  • Offer Profile
  • Simplicity and speed are combined for relaxed yet sporty sailing fun – this is the idea behind our Esseboats concept. With unmistakeable designs by the Italian Umberto Felci and high-quality technology optimised with the greatest attention to detail, Schuchter Sportboot AG builds impressive sailing boats focussing entirely on the fun of sailing at its premises on Lake Zurich in Switzerland.

The yachts made by Esseboats are fast and sporty, yet extremely easy to sail. Esseboats have already won many awards worldwide. Today you can find Esse sailing boats in many regions of the world, from the Baltic to the South of France and the USA. Both the Esse 850 and the Esse 750 have their own regatta series, with attractive events taking part in various locations, such as Monaco, Lake Maggiore, Lake Geneva, Lake Garda, Lake Constance and Lake Zurich.

      • ESSE 750 – EASY TO HANDLE CARBON RACER

      • The Esse 750 was designed as a two-man racer, although the boat’s construction, technical features and perfect handling also make it great fun to sail single-handedly in all conditions.

As with other boats constructed by Esseboats, Josef Schuchter once again entrusted the development to the Italian designer Umberto Felci. This ensured the continuation of the successful design concept of the Esse 850 and the Esse 990. The boat’s hull and deck are carbon composite sandwich, constructed using the infusion process. The mast is also made of carbon. The modern sail plan includes a self-tacking jib, a square top mainsail and gennaker.

The gennaker is set through a launching tube. As neither a backstay nor runners are used and the gennaker is dropped using a dropline, single-handed sailing is no problem in all conditions.

      • ESSE 850 – RACING SAILBOAT

      • It all started with the idea of creating a sporty sailing boat, offering above-average qualities and yet still being very easy to handle. This is the precise concept on which Umberto Felci based his designs for Esse 850. The boat’s perfect functionality across a wide spectrum of wind and wave conditions has proved itself in many different waters, from Alpine lakes to the Atlantic and Pacific coastlines.

        HIGHLIGHTS
Winner of Sportboot Euro 2004, European boat of the year 2005, Sailing boat of the year in the overall category in the USA 2007, foundation of the International Esse 850 Class in 2007.

        DETAILS

The hull and deck are built in north Italy out of epoxy and vinylester with a PVC sandwich core. Schuchter Sportboot AG on Lake Zurich makes the keel and rudder and also takes care of the fitting out and finishing. The keel is retracted by 50cm when on the trailer in order to reduce the overall towing height to 3.30 m. An optional lifting device can be purchased in order to reduce the depth of the keel to 1.55 m while in the water for harbour manoeuvres under motor. The weight of the empty boat is 1260 kg, 700kg of which is in keel ballast. The modern aluminium rig does not require runners and the gennaker pole is made of carbon.

        STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Boat complete with rod rigging, sheets and halyards, lifting strap, Bartels under deck mounted jib roller reefing, Harken deck fittings, outboard motor bracket.

      • ESSE 850 LE – PURE SAILING FUN WITH A HINT OF LUXURY

      • The latest model of the Esse 850 series, the Esse 850 LE, impresses with its outstanding sailing performance, already proven by the Esse 850 in all sailing waters.

The LE is even more appealing to sailors, responding to the requirement for easy handling and adding a touch of luxury. LE stands for Luxury and Efficiency – maximum sailing pleasure with minimum effort and the ultimate in comfort.

The carbon rig means that there is no need for a backstay in the Esse 850 LE. Together with the self-tacking jib, this provides the ideal solution, allowing the boat to be sailed as a two-man crew or single-handedly.

The mainsail stays fixed to the boom and is attached to the mast on ball-bearing mounted slides. This makes raising and lowering the sails child’s play. The jib, of course, is also rolled and is permanently attached. This means that nothing stands in the way of sailing away from the mooring without having to spend hours preparing – leaving more time for pure sailing pleasure.

The teak cockpit floor and a modern electric inboard engine (also available as a petrol or diesel engine on request) provide additional comfort. The Esse 850 LE is of a glass fibre sandwich construction with epoxy resin. The rig, gennaker boom and tiller are made solely of carbon.

      • ESSE 990 - SAIL FAST

      • The Esse 990 combines everything you need for day sailing in style. The sleek and elegant lines keep their promise and give the boat an incomparable feeling of almost weightless gliding, even when the breeze is very light. Could it also be a bit more sporty? No problem! Even with a modest crew, the Esse 990 reveals its enormous potential and leaves all competition in its wake. The main features of the boat’s construction are the solid and stiff sandwich construction in high-quality epoxy resin. The rig and gennaker boom are made of carbon. Standard fittings also include an inboard motor with saildrive and a self-tacking jib. The dimensions of 9.99 m length and 2.55 m beam allow easy transportation by trailer. The duplex steel keel structure supports the lead bulb and is a liftable keel so that the draft can be reduced to 1.70 m. The gennaker boom can easily be extended and retracted from the cockpit. In addition to the extensive standard fittings, various options such as teak deck and special exterior colours are also available.

      • ESSE 330: ESSEBOATS' NEW WEEKEND CRUISER

      • he Esse 330, the new weekend cruiser from Esseboats, offers sporty sailing characteristics combined with the comfort of spending a relaxed weekend on the boat. The ten-meter long Esse 330 was launched in September 2019.

The interior of the Esse 330 is inviting and bright, offering enough space for comfortable overnight stays or relaxation. The slender hull remains true to the elegant design of the Esseboats family.

The Esse 330 owes its sportiness and very easy handling, above all, to its great stability along with a high ballast content. Both features combined help optimize the 2.3-ton boat for solo sailing as well, which is further supported by a self-tacking jib and the absence of a backstay.

The liftable keel reduces the draft from 1.90 m to 1.55 m.
